Dr. Mohamed Magdy Mohamed Abbas

Dr. Mohamed Magdy Mohamed Abbas is a Cardiology Consultant at Medcare Hospital, Sharjah, with 25 years of experience in cardiac electrophysiology and heart rhythm management. He trained extensively in Egypt and France, earning his medical degree from Cairo University (where he graduated top of his class), followed by a Master's degree and PhD in Critical Care Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He then completed specialized training in cardiac electrophysiology mapping and ablation at the University of Nancy, France, and holds a Diploma in Cardiovascular Medicine from the same institution.

Dr. Magdy heads the Cardiac Electrophysiology Department at Al Qassimi Hospital, Sharjah (since 2013) and holds professorships at Cairo University and the University of Sharjah. He has extensive expertise in treating complex heart rhythm disorders including atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. His procedural work includes over 3,000 complex ablation procedures (catheter-based scar removal to restore normal rhythm), 1,000 conventional pacemaker implantations, 400 leadless pacemaker procedures, and 700 high-voltage cardiac device implantations. He is an active member of major international societies including the European Society of Cardiology, American Heart Rhythm Society, and European Heart Rhythm Association.

Dr. Magdy has trained over 200 cardiologists from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and has contributed chapters to the "ECG Masters' Collection" and numerous articles in leading journals such as the European Heart Journal and Journal of the American College of Cardiology. He has received multiple Best Innovation Doctor Awards from the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (2016, 2022, 2023, 2024) for his clinical and technological contributions.
