Dr. Riad Alchanan

Dr. Riad Alchanan is a Staff Physician in the Interventional Radiology & Imaging Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Diagnostics Institute. With 16 years of clinical experience, he completed his medical degree at Latvian University and underwent comprehensive specialty training in the UK, where he obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR). He completed a fellowship in interventional radiology at King's College Hospital in London and was appointed as a consultant in 2017, serving for five years before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Alchanan is competent across all aspects of interventional radiology, with particular expertise in vascular and cancer-related interventions, as well as managing acute and complex trauma cases. He also completed specialized training in neurointervention and obtained the European Diploma in Stroke Intervention in 2022. His clinical work spans varicocele and fibroid embolization, interventional cancer treatment, post-surgical complication management, and difficult vascular access cases.

Dr. Alchanan has authored and co-authored publications in major medical journals and contributed chapters to medical books, with presentations at international conferences. He is fluent in English and Arabic and brings a patient-centred approach to complex radiological interventions.
