Dr. Nesrin Helmy

Dr. Nesrin Helmy is a pathologist and laboratory medicine specialist with over 15 years of experience in clinical microbiology and infection prevention. She completed her medical degree at Elmonofeya University in Egypt in 2001, followed by advanced training in clinical microbiology, immunology and chemistry from Cairo University. Before joining Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital, she worked extensively in public health laboratories in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Helmy specializes in medical microbiology with particular expertise in antimicrobial stewardship programs — helping hospitals use antibiotics safely and effectively to prevent drug-resistant infections. She is also trained in infection prevention and control, and healthcare quality management. Her work focuses on laboratory diagnostics, identifying infections, and guiding appropriate treatment through evidence-based microbiology.
