Dr. Suresh Annamalai

Dr Suresh Annamalai is a UK-trained Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 10 years of post-specialisation experience treating children's bone, joint, and muscle conditions. He trained at leading UK centres including Birmingham Children's Hospital and University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, where he held clinical leadership roles overseeing the Neuromuscular Service and Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH) Service. He completed his FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) in 2013 and undertook specialist fellowships in hip surgery and paediatric orthopaedics.

Dr Annamalai's clinical expertise spans limb lengthening and deformity correction, complex hip conditions including cerebral palsy-related hip problems, clubfoot and foot deformities, and paediatric fracture care. He was among the first surgeons in Leicester to pioneer the use of femoral bracing as an alternative to open surgery for thighbone fractures in young children. He also manages neuromuscular conditions, gait problems, and chronic musculoskeletal pain in children.

Beyond clinical work, Dr Annamalai is an educator and researcher with several peer-reviewed publications. He serves as Equality and Diversity Lead and Board Member of the British Society for Children's Orthopaedic Surgery (BSCOS), and teaches on FRCS examinations and national paediatric orthopaedic courses. He believes in holistic family-centred care and is author of "The Well-Being Adventure: Unlocking the Happy You."
