Dr. Yousef El Hefny

Dr. Yousef El Hefny is a highly experienced Consultant ENT and Head & Neck Surgeon with specialist expertise in advanced rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery. He was formerly Head of the Department of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery at Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi, where he is recognised for introducing endoscopic sinus surgery to the UAE in November 1991. He now practises at Mediclinic Abu Dhabi.

Dr. El Hefny manages both adult and paediatric ENT conditions with a particular focus on complex sinus problems including chronic sinusitis, fungal infections of the sinuses, nasal polyps, and tumours of the nose and paranasal sinuses. His surgical expertise includes advanced endoscopic sinus surgery (including revision procedures), septoplasty (straightening the nasal partition), and radiofrequency reduction of enlarged turbinates. In children, he treats chronic tonsillitis, mouth breathing, and snoring, performing advanced procedures using LigaSure technology for tonsil removal and endoscopic adenoid surgery.

Dr. El Hefny trained at leading international institutions including Johns Hopkins Hospital, Mayo Clinic, and Boston Children's Hospital at Harvard University, working with renowned pioneers in rhinology. His contributions to ENT surgery have earned invitations to lecture at major US institutions and professional societies including the American Academy of Otolaryngology and American Rhinologic Society.
