Dr. Marie Clare du Boulay

Dr Marie du Boulay is a fully accredited UK Board Certified Consultant Anaesthesiologist with over 20 years of experience in both NHS and private practice. She trained in medicine at King's College, University of London, completed specialist anaesthesia training at the Wessex School of Anaesthesia, and finished her training with a dedicated fellowship in children's anaesthesia at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She was awarded her Certificate of Completion of Training in 2001.

Dr du Boulay maintains a specialist interest in children's anaesthesia and provides care across major general surgery, with particular expertise in oesophageal and bariatric (weight-loss) surgery. She is comfortable managing a broad range of anaesthetic cases and brings extensive leadership experience from her work at the Royal College of Anaesthetists, where she led the accreditation programme (ACSA) responsible for raising standards across anaesthetic services throughout the UK. In 2024, the Royal College of Anaesthetists awarded her the Dudley Buxton Medal, recognising her outstanding contribution to improving standards of care, safety and quality in anaesthesia.

Dr du Boulay is also an educator who completed a Master's degree in Medical Education with Distinction and led the complete rewrite of the anaesthesia curriculum for UK training programmes, launched in August 2021. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and a member of the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists.
