Dr. Merchant A. Shahid is a Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital with 35 years of clinical experience. He trained at Seth G S Medical College in Mumbai, followed by advanced fellowships in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Rouen in France and Harvard Medical School in the USA. Throughout his career, he has held consultant positions at leading hospitals across India, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the UAE, and is recognized internationally for his expertise in complex cardiac interventions.

Dr. Shahid specializes in interventional cardiology procedures including complex coronary angioplasty, balloon angioplasty, stent placement, and transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). He is skilled in advanced imaging techniques such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and optical coherence tomography (OCT), as well as coronary physiology assessment.
