Dr. Moutaz Elkadri

Dr Moutaz is a consultant cardiologist with 26 years' experience in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm abnormalities. He holds an MD, MSc, and PhD, along with fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians (London) and the Heart Rhythm Society, and practises at Mediclinic Abu Dhabi.

He manages a broad range of arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats) using both medication and specialized procedures. His key treatments include catheter ablation—a minimally invasive technique to correct rhythm problems—and implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronization devices (CRT). He also assesses patients at risk of sudden cardiac death from inherited conditions such as long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, and arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC). He performs lead extractions and left atrial appendage closure, and has expertise in newer technologies including leadless pacemakers and subcutaneous defibrillators.
