He completed his medical degree (MBBS) at Madurai Medical College in 1994 and earned his MD in dermatology, venereology, and leprosy from Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research in 1998. During his career in India, he worked as a Consultant Dermatologist and Venereologist at several leading hospitals including Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Shri.
