Dr. Zofia Alicja Kotyra

Dr. Zofia Alicja Kotyra is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital in Abu Dhabi. She completed advanced anaesthesia training in London and served as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College, before taking senior consultant roles in Abu Dhabi and Doha. She holds British Board certification in Anaesthesia and Critical Care.

Dr. Kotyra has broad expertise across multiple surgical specialities. She specialises in neuraxial and labour analgesia (pain relief during childbirth), obstetric and gynaecological anaesthesia, and general and orthopaedic surgery. She also provides anaesthesia for critical care, ENT, paediatric, plastic, vascular, robotic, dental, and urological procedures. Her work centres on safe and effective perioperative care—managing patients before, during, and after surgery.

Her academic interests focus on medical education, safety, and quality in perioperative and critical care. She holds a Master's degree in Healthcare Management and has been involved in teaching medical students at Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar and Imperial College London. Dr. Kotyra speaks English and Polish fluently.
