Dr. Najwa Al-Bustani

Dr. Najwa Al-Bustani is a Staff Physician and Program Director of the Neurology Residency at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Neurological Institute. A UAE national, she trained at leading international institutions: Sultan Qaboos University in Oman for her medical degree, McGill University in Canada for neurology residency, and the University of Washington in the USA for advanced fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology and neuromuscular medicine. With 18 years of clinical experience, she brings both breadth and specialist depth to her practice.

Dr. Al-Bustani's clinical focus centres on general neurology and neuromuscular disorders—conditions affecting muscles and the nerves that control them. She has extensive hands-on expertise in nerve conduction studies (electrical tests of nerve function) and electromyography (EMG), including specialised single-fibre EMG testing used to diagnose complex muscle diseases. She treats myasthenia gravis, peripheral neuropathy, motor neurone disease, Parkinson's disease, migraine, and tremor, often working with patients who require detailed diagnostic testing to pinpoint the cause of weakness or numbness.

Dr. Al-Bustani is board-certified by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine and holds specialist certifications from Canada and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. She is well-suited for patients needing expert diagnosis of nerve and muscle problems, particularly those requiring advanced electrical testing, as well as management of complex neuromuscular conditions.
