Dr. Arun Thomas

Dr. Arun Thomas is a Specialist in the Department of Radiology at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital in Dubai. He trained in India, completing his MBBS at Government Medical College Kottayam and his specialist MD in Radiodiagnosis at Government Medical College Calicut. He holds multiple postgraduate qualifications including a DNB (Diplomate of National Board) in Radiodiagnosis, a European Diploma in Radiology, and a Diplomate of the Indian College of Radiology and Imaging. Before joining Medcare, he worked at leading hospitals across India including Apollo Hospital Kochi, Iqraa International Hospital Calicut, and Avitis Institute Palakkad, building 8 years of clinical experience.

Dr. Thomas specializes in reporting across imaging modalities—MRI, CT, ultrasound, conventional X-rays, and mammography. He performs a range of image-guided interventions including drainage of abdominal abscesses, percutaneous nephrostomy (kidney drainage), renal biopsy, ultrasound-guided reduction of intussusception (bowel telescoping), fine-needle aspiration of the thyroid and lungs, liver biopsy, breast core biopsy, and radiofrequency ablation for bone tumors. He also assists intraoperatively with ultrasound guidance during liver and pancreatic surgery.

His particular focus is musculoskeletal radiology and gastrointestinal imaging. Dr. Thomas is an overseas member of the Royal College of Radiologists (UK), a member of the European Society of Radiology and the British Institute of Radiology, and holds life membership in the Indian Medical Association and Indian Radiology Imaging Association.
