Dr. John Alexander

Dr. John Alexander is a Consultant Endocrinologist at Mediclinic Dubai Mall with over 15 years of clinical experience across India, the UK, and the Middle East. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and Edinburgh, and holds a UK Certificate of Completion of Training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and General Internal Medicine. He is also SCOPE-certified as a bariatrician by the World Obesity Federation.

Dr. Alexander's clinical expertise spans intensive diabetes management with insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, obesity and weight management, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, pituitary and adrenal conditions, reproductive endocrinology (including polycystic ovary syndrome), metabolic bone disease, and endocrine conditions in pregnancy. He has a particular interest in applying technology to diabetes care, including closed-loop insulin systems (artificial pancreas), and in managing the endocrine effects of bariatric surgery.

He has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals, presented at regional, national, and international conferences, and is an invited speaker for diabetes and endocrine education programs. Dr. Alexander also holds an Honorary Senior Lecturer position at a UK medical school and is an examiner for MRCP and PLAB qualifications. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Urdu.
