Dr. Raquel Avila

Dr. Raquel Avila is a specialist dermatologist practicing for over 11 years with extensive training across clinical, surgical, and aesthetic dermatology. She earned her medical degree with summa cum laude honors from La Universidad del Zulia in Venezuela in 1994, followed by a Doctorate in Medical Sciences and a Master's degree in Immunology from the same institution. She completed her dermatology residency at the Military Hospital of Maracaibo in 2015 after obtaining a Master's degree in Advanced Dermatology from the University of Alcalá de Henares in Spain in 2013. Before moving to Abu Dhabi, she spent over 25 years as a staff professor teaching dermatology and general medicine at La Universidad del Zulia's School of Medicine.

Dr. Avila treats the full spectrum of skin conditions—from common concerns like acne, rosacea, and melasma to inflammatory conditions such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis, infectious diseases, and skin cancers. She performs minor surgical procedures including skin and nail biopsies, removal of cysts and lipomas, and treatment of skin growths.
