Dr. Rowaida Hamdy Abdou

Dr Rowaida Hamdy is a Consultant Rheumatologist at NMC Specialty Hospital in Abu Dhabi with 14 years of clinical experience. She completed her medical degree, master's degree, and PhD in Rheumatology from Ain Shams University in Egypt, where she also served as manager of the inpatient rheumatology unit and held a position as consultant and lecturer before joining NMC Healthcare.

Dr Rowaida treats a wide range of rheumatological and autoimmune conditions, including inflammatory arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthropathies, gout), connective tissue diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis, systemic sclerosis, polymyositis, Sjögren's syndrome), degenerative joint diseases (osteoarthritis, neck and back problems), and soft tissue disorders (frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, trigger finger, plantar fasciitis). She is experienced in biological therapy for rheumatic diseases, intra-articular and soft tissue injections, and holds EULAR certification in musculoskeletal ultrasound for diagnosis and monitoring of rheumatic conditions.

Dr Rowaida is an active member of the American College of Rheumatology, has been a speaker at multiple national and international conferences, and has contributed to global clinical trials and research recognized by leading rheumatology organizations. She follows international treatment guidelines from the American College of Rheumatology and EULAR (European League Against Rheumatism).
