Dr. Akshay Kumar

Dr. Akshay Kumar is a specialist radiologist at Zulekha Hospital in Dubai with over 22 years of experience in diagnostic radiology and advanced imaging techniques. He completed his postgraduate qualification (MD in Radiology and Imaging) in 2003 and has built his expertise across multiple healthcare systems, including JCI-accredited hospitals in Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaima, as well as leading diagnostic centres in India where he worked as a senior resident and consultant radiologist.

Dr. Kumar has extensive experience across a wide range of imaging modalities, with particular focus on body imaging and cardiac imaging. His clinical interests include cardiothoracic imaging (cardiac MRI, CT coronary angiography), thoracic imaging techniques such as CT virtual bronchoscopy, and advanced abdominal imaging including MRI and CT enterography, CT colonography, and imaging of the prostate and breast. He is also experienced in dual-energy CT and spectral CT for stone composition analysis and gout detection, as well as oncology imaging with PET-CT for cancer detection, staging and follow-up.

Dr. Kumar brings a patient-centred approach to radiology, translating complex imaging findings into clear clinical guidance. He is well-suited for patients requiring detailed diagnostic imaging evaluation across a broad spectrum of conditions, from cardiac concerns to abdominal and oncological assessments.
