Dr. Sudarshan Bhandary

Dr. Sudarshan Bhandary is an orthopaedic and arthroscopic specialist at Medcare Hospitals in Sharjah with 28 years of clinical experience. He trained at Kasturba Medical College in India and completed specialist qualifications including an MS in Orthopaedics (gold medal recipient) and a Diploma in Orthopaedics. His advanced training spans shoulder and sports medicine fellowships in Germany and France under surgeons including Dr. Laurent Lafosse and Dr. Jean Kany, plus computer-assisted knee surgery training in Australia and clinical observation at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in London.

Dr. Bhandary specialises in both routine and complex arthroscopic procedures including knee ligament reconstruction (ACL and PCL repair), rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability (Bankart repair), and knee-replacement surgery. He is particularly experienced in computer-assisted joint replacement and joint preservation techniques designed to avoid or delay the need for major surgery. He has held senior academic positions in India, including heading the orthopaedic department at AJ Medical College in Mangalore, and served as Chief of Sports Medicine at AJ Hospital before relocating to the UAE.
