Dr. Philippe Landreau

Dr Philippe Landreau is a French orthopaedic surgeon with more than 25 years' experience in knee and shoulder surgery. He specialises in treating acute and chronic sports injuries as well as degenerative joint conditions. Before moving to Dubai, he served as Chief of Surgery at Aspetar, a leading orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital in Doha, Qatar (2010–2018). Earlier in his career, he worked in Paris, combining private and public surgical practice at Clinique du Sport, the American Hospital of Paris, and La Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital.

Dr Landreau has performed more than 18,000 surgeries across Europe and the Middle East, treating both conservative management and surgical approaches including osteotomy (bone realignment) and joint replacement. He has been the trusted surgeon for numerous elite sports teams, including the French national rugby, judo, and handball teams, as well as several national football teams in the Gulf region. He is internationally recognised for his scientific publications, educational programmes, and leadership within the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS).

Dr Landreau is particularly well suited for patients with complex knee or shoulder problems—whether from sport, trauma, or wear-and-tear—who benefit from a surgeon with elite-level experience and a commitment to the latest techniques. He has also pioneered surgical training in the Middle East and contributed to knee prosthesis design.
