Dr. Omar Ghazanfar

Dr. Omar Ghazanfar is a General Practitioner within the Emergency Medicine Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Integrated Hospital Care Institute. He completed his medical degree at Karachi University in Pakistan and brings 19 years of clinical experience, including 13 years working in the UK across surgery and emergency medicine before relocating to the UAE in 2015. He previously served as an Emergency Physician at Zayed Military Hospital, Abu Dhabi, where he held the role of Co-Chair of Trauma.

Dr. Ghazanfar has a particular focus on disaster medicine, having completed an Advanced Masters in Disaster Medicine from the University of Del Piemonte (Italy) and Vrije University (Brussels). He is skilled in managing acute emergencies and chest infections. His clinical practice is complemented by strong expertise in emergency medicine education and leadership—he has authored several book chapters, made over 40 international conference presentations, and serves as Chief Editor of the Emirates Society of Emergency Medicine Newsletter.

Beyond clinical work, Dr. Ghazanfar has invested significantly in leadership development, completing the Edward Jenner Leadership Certificate from the NHS Leadership Academy and holding a Fellowship with the Institute of Leadership and Management (UK). He is actively involved in international emergency medicine committees, including the IFEM NATSIG committee on technology use and the European Society of Emergency Medicine's Disaster Committee. He is a good fit for patients needing emergency care from a physician experienced in complex trauma situations and disaster response.
