Dr. Faeqa Hami

Dr. Faeqa Hami is a Consultant in Palliative Medicine with over 22 years of experience in end-of-life care and pain management. She qualified from the Royal Free Hospital and School of Medicine in 1991 and completed specialist training in palliative medicine in 2002, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2007. She has held senior clinical and management roles at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, including leading the Hospital Specialist Palliative Care Team and serving as Trust Cancer Lead and Clinical Director for Specialist Services.

Dr. Hami delivers comprehensive palliative care across multiple settings—patients' homes, hospitals, hospices, and care homes. She focuses on symptom control (pain, breathlessness, nausea), psychological and emotional support, and helping patients and families plan for future care through advance care planning conversations. She works closely with oncologists, pain specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize care and ensure that what matters most to the patient guides all decisions.

Her approach places the patient and family voice at the centre of care. In 2019, the leadership team she was part of received an "Outstanding" rating from the Care Quality Commission for end-of-life care. She is also an experienced educator, medical appraiser, coach, and mentor, and has contributed to specialty exam development and assessment for overseas medical graduates.
