Dr. Mark Sutton Smith

Dr Mark Sutton-Smith is a UK-trained Consultant in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine now based at Mediclinic Dubai. He has extensive experience managing diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2), thyroid problems, adrenal and pituitary disease, and obesity-related metabolic conditions. His approach combines evidence-based medicine with a focus on personalised care for complex endocrine conditions across both outpatient and inpatient settings.

He recently completed his role as Clinical Director for Inpatient Internal Medicine at a major NHS trust in London, where he led improvements in clinical pathways, governance, and service quality. Dr Sutton-Smith holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Imperial College London and has published extensively in his field, with approximately 3,000 citations and an h-index of 25—reflecting sustained international recognition in biomedical research.

As a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and an examiner for postgraduate medical qualifications, he contributes to clinical education. In 2025 he was appointed Visiting Professor at Georgian State University in Tbilisi. He works collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, comprehensive care for patients with complex metabolic and endocrine conditions.
