Dr. Gowri Ramanathan

Dr Gowri Ramanathan is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Specialist in Fetal Medicine at King's College Hospital Dubai. She graduated from Melbourne University in Australia and completed her specialist training in London in 2007, earning her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She undertook three years of focused training in fetal medicine under Professor Nicolaides at King's College Hospital in the UK, one of the world's leading fetal medicine centres.

With 20 years of experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr Ramanathan has developed particular expertise in managing complex pregnancies and conditions affecting the baby and placenta. She holds the Diploma in Foetal Medicine from the Foetal Medicine Foundation UK and the Joint Diploma in Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound from the Royal College of Radiologists and RCOG. Her work focuses on conditions like placenta accreta and placenta previa, using advanced ultrasound and specialist knowledge to guide care during pregnancy and delivery.

Dr Ramanathan is passionate about education and was the first preceptor outside the UK for the Royal College's Fetal Medicine Advanced Training Skills Module. She regularly speaks at national conferences and has received Medical Distinction awards and a Royal Excellence Award from the UAE Genetic Disease Association.
