Dr. Seyed Bagher Tabatabaei

Dr. Seyed Bagher Tabatabaei is a Consultant in Interventional Cardiology at Zulekha Hospital Dubai with over 18 years of experience in general and interventional cardiology. He trained extensively in Germany, completing specialist training in cardiology and interventional cardiology at the University of Frankfurt, and holds German Board Certification. He also completed a fellowship in cardiovascular intervention research at Stanford University in California, and trained in internal and intensive care medicine at the University of Bonn.

Dr. Tabatabaei specializes in complex coronary interventions (complex PCI), emergency treatment of heart attacks (24/7 STEMI management via catheter lab), and implantation of cardiac devices including pacemakers, implantable defibrillators (ICDs), and resynchronization devices (CRT). He performs non-invasive heart imaging including echocardiography (TTE, TEE), stress testing, and Holter monitoring, and uses advanced imaging techniques like intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) during procedures. He also manages critically ill cardiac patients including those with heart failure and cardiogenic shock in intensive care settings.

Before joining Iranian Hospital Dubai as Chief of the Cardiovascular Department in 2013, he worked in Germany as Senior Attending Physician and Co-Director of Cardiology at Erlenbach Hospital, and held positions at University Hospital Red Crescent Frankfurt, Bad Soden Hospital, and Ilanz Hospital in Switzerland.
