Dr. Shekar V. Shikare

Dr. Shekhar Shikare is a leading expert in nuclear medicine with over 40 years of experience across India, the UAE, and Europe. He holds an MBBS, a Diploma in Radiation Medicine, and is a Diplomate of the National Board in Nuclear Medicine from India. He is also certified in Nuclear Cardiology from the USA and holds a European Fellowship in Nuclear Medicine. He currently practises at NMC Royal Hospital in Sharjah.

Dr. Shikare has led the development of full-spectrum diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine services at multiple institutions, including Al Zahra Hospital. His clinical expertise spans advanced imaging techniques (SPECT/CT scans), thyroid and parathyroid imaging, heart imaging for coronary artery disease, cancer diagnostics and staging, paediatric nuclear medicine, neuroendocrine tumour imaging, and kidney and urinary system imaging. He specializes in both diagnostic imaging and treatment, including low and high-dose radioactive iodine therapy for benign thyroid conditions and thyroid cancer.
