Dr. Shahid Ali

Dr Shahid Ali is a consultant paediatrician with over nine years' experience at a major UK hospital and advanced training in both general paediatrics and children's blood disorders. After studying medicine in Pakistan, he worked with the armed forces and was deployed to Bosnia during the Balkan war, where he gained valuable experience treating children in challenging circumstances. This experience shaped his career focus on paediatric medicine.

Dr Ali completed specialist paediatric training in Birmingham and Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the UK, and during his nine years at Northampton General Hospital, he held the role of clinical lead for paediatric haematology and oncology—children's blood disorders and cancers. He brings extensive experience across general paediatrics including newborn care, asthma, allergies, infections, headaches, digestive issues, slow growth, urine infections, seizures, enlarged lymph nodes and vaccinations. He has particular expertise in managing different types of anaemia, including nutritional anaemia, sickle cell disease and thalassemia.

Dr Ali is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and maintains full medical registration with the UK General Medical Council. He combines clinical excellence with a holistic approach to ensure young patients' overall wellbeing. At Mediclinic, he provides both outpatient care at Dubai Mall and inpatient care at City Hospital, with continuity of care throughout his patients' treatment.
