Dr. Rafia Rahim

Dr. Rafia Rahim is a Consultant Psychiatrist at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital in Dubai, with 27 years of clinical experience. She trained at Trivandrum Medical College in India and holds specialist certifications from the Arab Board of Medical Specialisation and membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK). For over two decades, she worked at the Al Ain Hospital Behavioural Sciences Institute in the UAE, where she managed complex psychiatric cases across diverse patient populations and mentored psychiatry residents.

Dr. Rahim diagnoses and treats the full range of adult mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and psychotic conditions. She also assesses adolescents from age 14 onwards. Her treatment approaches include medication management, psychotherapy, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), and pre-operative psychiatric evaluation. She brings particular expertise to anxiety and mood disorders, using evidence-based techniques tailored to each patient's needs.
