Dr. Muna Khair

Dr. Muna Khair is a specialist anaesthetist at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, bringing 17 years of broad anaesthetic experience across multiple surgical and medical specialities. She trained at Khartoum Teaching Hospital in Sudan before moving to the Ahmed Gasim Cardiac and Renal Transplant Centre, where she developed expertise in complex procedures including heart valve replacements and kidney transplants. Since relocating to the UAE in 2013, she has worked at Hatta Hospital and Tawam Hospital, managing anaesthesia for diverse specialisations ranging from cancer surgery and vascular procedures to brain surgery, orthopaedics, and obstetrics.

Dr. Khair has particular expertise in obstetric anaesthesia and pain relief during labour, as well as ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia — techniques that allow precise, targeted numbing of specific areas. She is highly skilled in caring for critically ill patients and emergency resuscitation. She has been a core member of the PROMT team, which delivers emergency anaesthetic training, and actively contributes to training programmes for anaesthesia residents at Tawam Hospital, reflecting her passion for education and simulation-based learning.
