Dr. Lawrence Lear

Dr. Lawrence is a sports and family medicine physician who has been practicing in Dubai for seven years. Before relocating, he spent 28 years in the UK as a family medicine doctor and musculoskeletal physician, eventually becoming a senior partner at a 14,000-patient practice. His medical degree is from London, and he holds fellowship status with the Royal College of General Practitioners.

He treats the full range of sports injuries and musculoskeletal problems—from common issues like tennis elbow and lower-back pain to stress fractures, shin splints, and concussion assessment using the SCAT6 protocol. He uses musculoskeletal ultrasound both to diagnose problems and to guide joint injections. Beyond physical injuries, he also manages sports-related medical conditions including exercise-induced breathing issues, exercise-related headaches, digestive problems, and hydration concerns.

Dr. Lawrence has a Master's degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Bath and worked at the Sports Medicine Polyclinic during the 2012 London Olympics. He takes particular interest in rugby injuries in young athletes, having worked with the English Rugby Football Union and two major rugby-playing schools. He believes good care requires understanding not just the injury itself but the physical, mental, and psychological factors behind it.
