Dr. Nausheen Ahmed

Dr. Nausheen Ahmed is Section Head of Hematology at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Cancer Institute. With 17 years of experience, she specializes in blood cancers and complex blood disorders including leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. She has advanced expertise in stem cell transplantation, cell and gene therapies, and CAR-T therapy—a cutting-edge treatment that harnesses the body's immune cells to fight cancer.

Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Ahmed was an Associate Professor at the University of Kansas, where she served as Medical Director of Stem Cell Transplant Survivorship and Associate Director for Cellular Therapies. During that time, she expanded transplant programs, strengthened clinical infrastructure, and increased patient access to advanced therapies. She has administered over 300 CAR-T treatments, performed more than 400 autologous stem cell transplants, and completed over 200 allogeneic stem cell transplants. She was among the first in the USA to offer approved bispecific therapies for lymphoma and gene therapy for sickle cell disease.

Dr. Ahmed is a founding member of the Immune Cellular Effector Therapy (ICE-T) Congress, a national educational platform that brings together academic centers and community oncology practices. Her commitment to mentorship has been recognized with the Mentor of the Year Award from the US Myeloma Innovations Research Collaborative in 2023 and 2025. She has authored or co-authored over 150 publications focused on stem cell transplantation, cellular therapy, and improving outcomes in advanced blood cancers.
