Dr. Zeyad Alrais

Dr. Zeyad Alrais is a specialist in medical critical care with over 20 years of experience. He currently leads the Critical Care Department at Dubai Health (Rashid Hospital) and oversees the surgical, medical, neurosurgical, and burn intensive care units. He trained in Germany, earning his MBBS from Heidelberg University and completing specialist board training in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Intensive Care Medicine at Mainz University Hospital. He also holds specialist training from the Oxford Healthcare Leadership Program and a diploma in transplant procurement management.

Dr. Alrais specializes in managing severely ill patients in intensive care settings, with particular experience in complex surgical and medical cases, neurosurgical complications, and burn injuries. His work includes bedside management of life-threatening conditions, organ support, and decision-making in high-stakes clinical scenarios. He has published research on critical complications in COVID-19, including studies on blood clots, diabetes-related complications, and airway management in acutely ill patients.

As an educator and mentor, he serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Mohammed Bin Rashid University and Gulf Medical University, teaching residents and ICU staff. He prioritizes high standards in patient care, teamwork, and advancement of critical care practices.
