Dr. Shipra Shrivastava

Dr. Shipra Shrivastava is a Consultant Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon at Aster Hospital Qusais with over 28 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery. She trained at the prestigious Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in Kerala, where she completed her MCh in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, and holds an MS in General Surgery and MBBS from Pt Ravishankar Shukla University in India. Before joining Aster, she worked as a Senior Consultant Cardiac Surgeon at CARE Hospitals in Hyderabad and as a Consultant at Medanta in Gurugram.

Dr. Shipra specialises in a wide range of advanced heart procedures. She performs beating-heart bypass surgery (avoiding cardiopulmonary bypass), valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, and complex repeat heart surgeries. She is particularly known for rheumatic mitral valve repair using the SHIP technique, a specialised method she has refined.
