Dr. Mahesh Krishna Ram

Dr. Mahesh Krishna Ram is a General and Minimal Access Laparoscopic Surgeon at Medcare Medical Centre with over 25 years of clinical experience. He trained in India, completing his MBBS at MS Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore, followed by his Master of Surgery at MR Medical College, Gulbarga. He then pursued specialized training in minimal access surgery, earning his Fellowship (FMAS) and Diploma (DMAS), and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

Dr. Ram is known for his precision in laparoscopic and laser-assisted surgeries, which offer patients faster recovery, less pain, and excellent outcomes compared to open surgery. He treats a wide range of conditions including gallbladder disease, all types of hernias (inguinal, umbilical, ventral, recurrent, and diastasis recti), piles, anal fissures, fistulas, pilonidal sinus disease, varicose veins, breast lumps, and thyroid and parathyroid disorders. His procedure repertoire includes laparoscopic gallbladder and appendix removal, advanced hernia repair using minimally invasive techniques, laser-assisted colorectal surgery, endoscopic procedures, and breast surgery including microdochectomy.

Early in his career, Dr. Ram served as Assistant Professor and General Surgeon at Azeezia and Travancore Medical Colleges in Kerala, India, and later as Head of Surgery, Trauma, and Emergency Medicine. He has worked at several leading hospitals in the UAE including NMC Speciality Hospital, NMC Royal Hospital, Zulekha Hospital, and Burjeel Hospital. International training under specialists in Switzerland and Italy has given him expertise in advanced techniques such as VAAFT and EPSIT for colorectal conditions, as well as advanced thyroid interventions.
