Dr. Maharra Hussain

Dr. Maharra Hussain is a consultant breast and general surgeon with postgraduate training in India and current practice in Dubai. She completed her MBBS at the University of Mumbai and earned her DNB qualification in General Surgery from India's National Board. She holds fellowships in Gastrointestinal, Hepato-Pancreatic-Biliary and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, and is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medical Sciences.

Dr. Hussain specialises in surgical management of breast cancer, performing mastectomies, wide excisions, sentinel lymph-node biopsies, axillary clearance and breast reconstruction. She also carries out both open and keyhole surgery for general conditions including hernia repair, appendix removal, gallstone surgery, bowel resections and procedures for piles, anal fissures and fistulas. She treats benign and malignant breast lumps, thyroid enlargement, and skin and soft-tissue masses including cysts, lipomas and pilonidal sinus disease.

Dr. Hussain is a reviewer for the Indian Journal of Cancer and permanent board member of the National Medical Journal of India. She has published multiple cases and research in indexed medical journals and textbooks. Prior to joining Mediclinic, she worked as a consultant at Breach Candy Hospital and Bhatia Hospital in Mumbai.
