Dr. Ali El Houni

Dr. Ali El Houni is a Consultant Endocrinologist at Burjeel Hospital in Sharjah, bringing over 25 years of clinical expertise in endocrinology and metabolic disorders. He completed his medical degree at the University of Liverpool School of Medicine and holds membership with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. He is fluent in English and Arabic, serving a diverse patient population across the UAE.

Dr. El Houni's clinical focus spans diabetes management (including gestational diabetes), thyroid disorders such as hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, pituitary and adrenal diseases, osteoporosis, and thyroid cancer. He also has extensive experience with complex neuroendocrine tumors and metabolic bone disease. Previously, he held senior academic and clinical positions as Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Al Ain and Consultant Endocrinologist at Tawam Medical Campus/Johns Hopkins Medicine, where he led thyroid cancer multidisciplinary teams and residency programmes.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. El Houni has contributed to regional healthcare policy, serving on the UAE Ministry of Health task force that developed the country's first national diabetes guidelines. He maintains active memberships in international endocrinology societies and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on diabetes risk management, thyroid disease, and hormonal complications.
