Dr. Yee Ting Sim

Dr. Yee Ting Sim is a Consultant Radiologist specializing in breast imaging. She studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, graduating in 2006, and completed her radiology training in the West of Scotland, obtaining her FRCR qualification in 2012. She worked as a Consultant Radiologist in the UK National Health Service (NHS), focusing on breast imaging, before joining the East of Scotland Breast Screening Centre in 2015 as Clinical Director, where she oversaw population screening programmes across Tayside and Northeast Fife.

Dr. Yee Ting offers a comprehensive range of breast imaging services, including mammography, 3D mammography (tomosynthesis), contrast-enhanced imaging, breast and armpit ultrasound, elastography (a technique assessing tissue stiffness), and breast MRI. She performs image-guided biopsies using multiple techniques—needle biopsies under ultrasound, mammography, or MRI guidance—and specializes in removing tissue samples to diagnose breast lumps and nodules. She is also skilled in locating and marking non-palpable lesions (lumps that cannot be felt) using advanced localization methods.

Dr. Yee Ting is recognized for her research contributions; in 2015 she received the Ellis Barnett Prize from Clinical Radiology journal for an outstanding paper on ultrasound imaging. She is fluent in multiple languages including English, Mandarin, Malay, Cantonese, Hokkien, and Foochow, and has completed elementary Japanese studies.
