Dr. Tamer Orief

Dr. Tamer Orief is a Consultant Neurosurgeon with 26 years of experience treating spinal conditions. He trained in Egypt, earning his medical degree from Alexandria University in 1997, followed by a master's degree in 2003 and a PhD in neurosurgery with spine specialization in 2007. He completed an international fellowship in minimally invasive spine surgery at Aichi Medical University in Japan in 2008.

Dr. Orief spent seven years practicing as a neurosurgeon at leading hospitals in Saudi Arabia, including serving as Head of the Neurosurgery Department at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital in Riyadh from 2013 to 2016. He then moved to the UAE, where he worked as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital from 2016 to 2022, before joining NMC Healthcare in Sharjah. His practice focuses on minimally invasive techniques and microsurgery for degenerative spinal diseases.

Dr. Orief is an active member of major international spine and neurosurgery societies, including the North American Spine Society, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and AO Spine Society. He is widely published in international journals, has contributed book chapters to leading neurosurgery texts, and regularly presents and teaches at international conferences.
