Dr. Lameese Tabaja

Dr. Lameese Tabaja is a Staff Physician in the Colorectal Surgery Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Digestive Disease Institute, bringing 18 years of surgical experience. She trained in Lebanon, Germany, Belgium, and France, completing her medical degree at Beirut Arab University and specialist colorectal training at Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc in Brussels. Her career spans tertiary-care centres across Europe and the Middle East, with particular depth in managing complex general and colorectal conditions.

Dr. Tabaja specialises in complex and advanced colorectal and anal surgery, with advanced training in minimally invasive techniques—laparoscopic and robotic surgery. She has a special interest in pelvic floor disorders and continence issues, and founded the Pelvic Floor unit at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in 2018, which she now directs. Her focus is on both diagnostic advances and the latest treatment options for conditions affecting bowel and pelvic floor function.

She is active in teaching, research, and conference presentations, having published articles and book chapters on her specialist areas. She works within a multidisciplinary team to offer evidence-based, contemporary care for patients with inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, anal fistula, and other complex colorectal and pelvic floor problems.
