Dr. Caroline Rydmarker

Dr. Caroline Rydmarker is a Swedish general surgeon with 14 years of clinical experience across prestigious hospitals worldwide. She completed her specialist training in General Surgery in Sweden in 2013 and has since worked in diverse settings—from rural hospitals to major university medical centres and international private facilities. Her career has taken her across Europe, Africa, South America, and the Middle East, including roles at the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital in Cape Town, hospitals in Brazil and Egypt, and as a flying doctor with Falck Global Assistance and the Swedish Military.

Dr. Rydmarker specialises in a broad range of general surgical conditions: hernias, gallbladder problems, rectal disorders (haemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas), pelvic floor issues, and pilonidal sinus disease. She is skilled in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. Her particular expertise lies in trauma and acute surgery, for which she is an ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) instructor. Before joining Mediclinic, she established and led a new private speciality hospital in the Maldives.

Dr. Rydmarker is dedicated to training junior doctors and medical students, having served as Director of Studies for surgical interns in Sweden. She is an associate member of the American College of Surgeons and belongs to the Swedish Surgical Society and Swedish Trauma Association. She is known for her commitment to ethical practice and evidence-based care.
