Dr. Abdul Samad Punekar

Dr. Abdul Samad Punekar is a consultant radiologist with 17 years of clinical experience, trained over 16 years in the United Kingdom and now practicing in Dubai. He completed general medical training in Liverpool and specialist radiology training through the Northern Deanery before working as a consultant radiologist at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust from 2009 to 2014. During his time in the UK, he was a core member of multidisciplinary teams managing gastrointestinal cancers and inflammatory bowel disease across the West Yorkshire Cancer Network.

Since moving to the Middle East in 2014, Dr. Punekar has held senior leadership roles, including Head of Department at King's College Hospitals Clinics in Abu Dhabi and Regional Lead and Head of Radiology at Mediclinic. His clinical practice focuses on oncology imaging—where he chairs oncology multidisciplinary team meetings—and non-vascular interventional procedures. He provides comprehensive diagnostic imaging across a broad range of complex conditions and is experienced in integrated cancer care.

Dr. Punekar is well-suited for patients requiring specialist imaging for cancer diagnosis, staging, and follow-up, as well as those needing intervention-guided procedures. He brings a structured, evidence-based approach refined through years in teaching hospital environments and a commitment to multidisciplinary team collaboration.
