Dr. Sathish Kumar Thirumurthy Kaliappa

Dr. Sathish Kumar Thirumurthy Kaliappa is a general surgeon with over two decades of clinical experience, currently practising at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital in Dubai and Medcare Hospital in Sharjah. He trained at two leading Indian medical institutions: Sri Ramachandra Medical College in Chennai for his medical degree, and Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore for his surgical specialisation. Earlier in his career, he held academic positions at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Coimbatore, India, progressing from Assistant Professor to Professor, and later served as Professor and Consultant Surgeon at Karpagam Faculty of Medical Sciences and Research before moving to the UAE.

Dr. Sathish Kumar's surgical practice spans general and laparoscopic surgery. He performs both minimally invasive (keyhole) and open procedures, including weight-loss surgery, gallbladder removal, appendix removal, hernia repairs, bowel and gastric surgery, breast and thyroid surgery, and treatment for varicose veins using endovenous laser treatment (EVLT). He also performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies of the upper and lower digestive tract, and manages haemorrhoids, anal fistulas, and anal fissures with advanced techniques.

Dr. Sathish Kumar has contributed to medical literature through publications and presentations at international and national conferences. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil, enabling him to communicate with a diverse patient population.
