Dr. Mohamed Abokoffa

Dr. Mohamed Abokoffa is a consultant anaesthetist at Mediclinic City Hospital who joined from Cork University Hospital in Ireland. He holds an MSc and is a fellow of the College of Anaesthetists, Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (FCA RCSI). He has particular expertise in providing anaesthesia for cardiac surgery cases, including coronary bypass grafts and heart-valve replacements, as well as thoracic procedures such as lung resections.

Beyond his core interests, Dr. Abokoffa has broad experience across anaesthesia for plastic surgery, orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery, obstetric and gynaecologic surgery, ENT, eye surgery, and vascular surgery. In neurosurgical cases, he is trained in managing patients with high intracranial pressure, traumatic brain injury, and subarachnoid haemorrhage, and performs anaesthetic techniques for craniotomy, spinal surgery, and posterior cranial fossa surgery. He is also trained in ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia and intensive care, including resuscitation and management of trauma patients, respiratory failure, and renal replacement therapy.

Dr. Abokoffa is an active member of the European Society of Anaesthesia. He is well suited for patients undergoing complex cardiac, thoracic, or neurosurgical procedures who want experienced anaesthetic support across a full range of operating-theatre specialties.
