Dr. Amal Suhool

Dr. Amal Suhool is a Consultant in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB), General, and Endocrine Surgery at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi. She is fellowship-trained in HPB and endocrine surgery with 18 years of experience. Her training spans multiple prestigious institutions: she obtained her medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), completed surgical fellowships in endocrine and pancreatic surgery in France, and undertook minimally invasive HPB fellowship training at the University Hospital Southampton in the UK. She holds a Master's degree in Leadership and Management from RCSI and is double board-certified in General Surgery and Gastrointestinal Surgery from Université Paris-Sorbonne.

Dr. Suhool specializes in cancer surgery affecting the liver, pancreas, thyroid, and adrenal glands, as well as complex abdominal cancers and benign biliary and pancreatic disease. She uses advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques, including fluorescent indocyanine green (ICG) imaging to enhance precision in liver and bile duct surgery. Her practice also encompasses hernia repair, abdominal wall reconstruction, and anti-reflux surgery. She is a published author on European guidelines for minimally invasive liver surgery and is an international speaker on liver and pancreatic surgery at major conferences.

Dr. Suhool is an active member of several international surgical societies and plays a mentorship role in the international HPB community across the Gulf region. She combines cutting-edge surgical techniques with a compassionate, patient-centred approach and uses the latest imaging and navigation technologies to optimize outcomes.
