Dr. Julia Ellert

Dr. Julia Ellert is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital with extensive training from Germany's leading cardiac centres. She graduated with her medical degree from Technical University of Munich in 2006 and completed specialised training in internal medicine and cardiology at the German Heart Centre. In 2013, she achieved German board certification in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, followed by a fellowship in interventional cardiology and valve procedures (TAVI) at the German Heart Centre. She then worked as a Consultant at Odense University Hospital in Denmark, one of Scandinavia's major cardiac centres, where she managed acute coronary emergencies and complex catheter-based interventions on a 24/7 basis.

Dr. Ellert has performed over 5,000 diagnostic coronary angiographies and more than 3,500 percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures—keyhole techniques to open blocked arteries. She is highly skilled in complex cases involving calcified vessels and vessel splits (bifurcation PCI), using advanced imaging and specialised tools such as lithotripsy (shock-wave therapy) and rotational atherectomy (mechanical plaque removal). In the TAVI field—minimally invasive aortic valve replacement—she has completed over 1,000 transfemoral procedures and is proficient with multiple valve types. She also manages cardiogenic shock (heart failure with very low blood pressure) using devices like the Impella heart pump, and has participated in emergency ECMO teams for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

Dr. Ellert combines high procedural volume with expertise in complex imaging and physiology-guided interventions. She is certified by both the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions and the German Society of Cardiology.
