Dr. Abdelhakim Elganyni

Dr. Abdelhakim Elganyni is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Mediclinic Welcare Hospital and Mediclinic Mirdif in Dubai. He completed his medical training in Egypt and pursued advanced subspecialty training in inflammatory bowel disease in the United Kingdom. He has also worked in Saudi Arabia before establishing his practice in the UAE, bringing a wealth of international experience to his patients.

Dr. Elganyni has extensive hands-on experience in endoscopy, having performed more than 3,000 colonoscopies (bowel examinations) and 5,000 gastroscopies (stomach examinations). His clinical expertise spans inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and functional bowel disorders. He also specializes in managing difficult-to-treat constipation and diarrhea, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders (rare allergic conditions affecting the digestive tract), and weight management therapies including intragastric balloon insertion.

Dr. Elganyni is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), the European Crohn's & Colitis Organization, and the Emirates Society of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. He has contributed to peer-reviewed scientific publications in his field and maintains a particular interest in newer biologic treatment options for inflammatory bowel disease. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
