Dr. Mohamed El Khashab

Dr. Mohamed El Khashab is a Staff Physician in the Cardiovascular Medicine Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. With 21 years of clinical experience, he brings expertise in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology developed through training at leading US academic centers. He completed his cardiology fellowship at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago and specialized advanced heart-failure training at Northwestern University, following residency in internal medicine at Creighton University in Nebraska.

Dr. El Khashab's clinical focus is on managing complex heart-failure conditions, including systolic and diastolic heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and familial heart disease. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he directed the cardiac intensive care unit at Kansas University Medical Center and served as an attending physician in the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Center of Excellence at Pulse Heart Institute in Washington state. He also held an academic position as Assistant Professor of Critical Care Medicine at Alexandria University Faculty of Medicine in Egypt and served as a clinical director for the Egyptian military.
