Dr. William Atiomo

Professor William Atiomo is a UK-trained consultant gynaecologist with over 30 years of clinical experience. He holds a full professorship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dubai, having previously worked at the University of Nottingham and Nottingham University Hospitals in the UK. His specialist training was completed at leading teaching hospitals across southwest England and London, where he also served as a clinical lecturer.

Professor Atiomo's clinical expertise covers most aspects of women's health, with particular focus on polycystic ovary syndrome, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, and infertility. He performs laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, including fibroid removal, prolapse repair, and hysteroscopic resection procedures. He has filed patents for novel surgical devices in laparoscopic gynaecology and has contributed numerous publications on gynaecological conditions.

Beyond clinical practice, he is deeply committed to medical education and research. He has trained countless medical students, residents, and specialist colleagues, and promoted collaborative education involving nurses and midwives. He currently leads an international initiative to standardize obstetrics and gynaecology curricula for medical students globally, aiming to reduce disparities in women's health outcomes.
