Dr. Rajeev Gopalakrishnan

Dr. Rajeev Gopalakrishnan is a Consultant General and Laparoscopic Surgeon with over 20 years of surgical experience. He trained at Kasturba Medical College (Manipal Academy of Higher Education) in India for his medical degree, followed by a Master's in Surgery from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Health Sciences. He is a founding doctor at LLH Hospital in Abu Dhabi and has held leadership roles there, including Deputy Medical Director and Medical Director.

Dr. Gopalakrishnan specializes in advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery across multiple areas. He performs breast operations including cyst removal, fibroadenoma surgery, and cancer treatment. His colorectal expertise covers piles, fissures, fistulas, and pilonidal sinus surgery using both laser and open techniques. He also manages varicose veins with open, chemical, and laser approaches, performs endocrine (thyroid) procedures, and handles emergency abdominal cases such as perforated appendix, bowel obstruction, and rupture.

He performs upper and lower endoscopy procedures including colonoscopy with therapeutic intervention. His approach combines traditional open surgery with modern keyhole techniques, tailored to each patient's condition. He is fluent in eight languages including English, Hindi, Urdu, and several Indian regional languages.
