Dr. Ramzi Ghanem

Dr. Ramzi Ghanem is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with over 20 years of experience working across Germany, Switzerland, and the UAE. He trained in ophthalmology at the University of Leipzig in Germany, where he completed both his specialist qualification and a fellowship in vitreoretinal and cataract surgery. He also completed advanced doctoral research at the University of Bern in Switzerland, bringing depth to his clinical expertise.

Dr. Ghanem offers comprehensive eye care across medical and surgical retina. He treats diabetic retinopathy (damage to blood vessels in the retina from diabetes), age-related macular degeneration (central vision loss in older adults), retinal vein occlusion (blocked blood vessels in the retina), and complex conditions like retinal detachment, vitreous haemorrhage (bleeding inside the eye), macular holes, and epiretinal membranes (scar tissue on the retina). His surgical skills include cataract removal, full vitreoretinal surgery, intravitreal injections (medicines injected into the eye), and laser treatments.
