Dr. Tanveer Nawab

Dr Tanveer Nawab is a specialist neonatologist with more than 20 years of medical experience. He trained in India, earning his MBBS and MD degrees from Rajiv Gandhi University in Bangalore, followed by a fellowship in paediatric endocrinology and a DM (Doctorate of Medicine) in Neonatology from The Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University in Chennai. He is currently based at Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Dr Nawab specializes in managing extremely premature babies and critically ill newborns. His clinical expertise includes advanced procedures such as central line placement (umbilical artery and vein catheters, PICC lines), mechanical ventilation including high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide treatment, and point-of-care ultrasound including functional heart and cranial ultrasound. He also manages chest tubes, peritoneal dialysis, and provides specialized care for newborns recovering from complex surgery and those requiring transport between facilities.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr Nawab is an Advanced NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) trainer and serves as academic coordinator for a pan-India group of DM residents, running a regular webinar series called the IAN Knowledge Series. He has authored chapters on neonatal emergencies and spoken at national and state conferences. He mentors medical students preparing for postgraduate entrance examinations in India.
