Dr. Alphy S. Puthiyidom

Dr. Alphy S. Puthiyidom is a consultant gynaecologist with over 15 years' experience in advanced minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery. She leads the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Mediclinic Welcare Hospital, where she is frequently referred complex surgical cases. In 2023, she was recognised by the Surgical Review Corporation, USA, as a Master Surgeon and Surgeon of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynaecology, and her hospital was accredited as a Centre of Excellence in this field.

Dr. Alphy has performed over 10,000 advanced keyhole and hysteroscopic procedures. She specialises in treating endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain, including difficult cases involving bowel and bladder; removing large or multiple fibroids; reconstructive surgery for prolapse and urinary incontinence; and emergency procedures such as ruptured ectopic pregnancy. She trained in minimally invasive techniques and urogynaecology in India, advanced endometriosis management and laparoscopy in France, and robotic surgery in the USA. She also has training in fertility management, assisted reproduction, and gynaecological cancer.

Dr. Alphy is committed to minimal scarring and optimal post-operative comfort. She has trained over 350 gynaecologists across India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, and regularly presents at international surgical conferences. She is an active member of major gynaecological societies including the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and European bodies.
